Five kilometres  from Corfu town, Perama is located close to the outlet of the Halikiopoulos lagoon. It enjoys a view towards the wold-famous Pontikonisi, which can be reached by boat from the little jetty at Agios Nikolas, and it is also linked with the 17th century Monastery of Vlaherena by a 300 metre-long causeway.

On the road between Perama and Benitses the part-ruined Kaiser Bridge juts out from the sandy shore. It was built link the Achillion Palace, high on the hill above, with the sea, giving Kaiser Wilhem easy access yto his yacht. Here, visitors can enjoy tastefull meals in the local restaurants, while gazing on the soft azure water of the Ionian Sea.

A frequent bus service means the visitor can get around easily.
